We would like to thank the Arnold Clark Community Fund who have kindly awarded us £1,000 to support activities within the centre. Every pound of external funding we get makes a real difference to the services on offer within the centre.

We are very happy to have been awarded £7,000 by the National Lottery towards upgrading the facilities in our hall. Using £7,000 from the National Lottery, and £5,000 of our own funds will allow us to install a 5m projector screen and a new sound system.

Thank you to lottery players who have made this National Lottery award possible.

Thanks to funding from the Edinburgh Thrive Arts: Small Grants Programme we’ll be delivering ten workshops during October 2024 around using smartphones for positive mental wellbeing, and although we ourselves at Southside based, participants can be from groups anywhere in the city.

Participants will be supported to develop an understanding of how photography can be a useful tool to support positive mental wellbeing, followed by time to take photographs in & around our community centre, exploring the theme of ‘In/Visible’. Our photographer shall provide advice and practical support on taking great images.

The ‘In/Visible’ theme is a chance to explore what it means to be ‘visible’ or ‘invisible’ when we think about our mental health. Which aspects of our mental health we keep hidden and which we feel able to share for example.

We would like to thank Edinburgh University for granting us £500 this month to our sixty plus activity club for materials.

Our sixty plus activity group brings older people together to connect through conversation, company, a cuppa and a range of activities, as part of our work to reduce isolation and loneliness.
